Dicko looks ahead to Derby

No sooner had we beaten Forest was Carl Dickinson looking ahead to next weekends meeting against their rivals Derby.

Nigel Clough’s side are in a decent run of form themselves so it will be another ‘test’ and he knows this: ‘they’ve just battered Watford 4-1.

‘Derby are on a good run – especially at Pride Park.

‘It’ll be a tough game for us but if we can play to the best of our ability then we should give them a game.’

Spot on Dicko, whilst I do not think that we should ‘expect’ anything, why should we not got to Pride Park and get something?

I feel we are capable of this.

My biggest disappointment is that I will not be there! My 3rd game of the season will need to be missed, as the old moolar is tight…

Whilst I must admit, and have already, that Dicko is NOT the best defender – which is a worry, considering he is a defender – he epitomises the character and unity among the squad before, during and after a game. And also the type that us Pompey fans love.

He did put in a good ball, which Dave Nugent cleverly flicked on, during the build up to the winning goal so does offer us something but is it enough, in spite of his fighter qualities that, as said, we love.

It will be interesting to see what happens with him though once The Herminator is back up to full speed.

Most on Vital believe that the left back spot will become his again, although I am not so sure – then again will a fully fit Hermann be left out, that said will Dicko be left out seen as he is on loan?

At least it gives the manager a good selection dilemma to ponder, as it is I would ‘think’ that Dicko will be starting at left back against Derby at the weekend, and I say bring ’em on…
