Crouch left out by Capello but Pompey trio in

Peter Crouch has been left out of the England squad to face the Czech Republic in a friendly this week – however David James, Glen Johnson and Jermain Defoe have all been included.

I do not think that we can really read too much into this as to be honest as Fabio Capello was at Wembley last weekend and Crouch would not have impressed him!

The facts that he plays for Pompey and that he has left Liverpool are irrelevant as the truth is the guy is not fit, he looked nowhere near it last weekend so it is little wonder he had been left out this time – but he will be back.

My main concern is for his fitness against Chelski tomorrow, I hope he has been able to improve this over the week…
