Martin Cranie last night made his return from the broken leg he sustained in November whilst on loan at QPR.

He played the full 90 minutes as the 2nd string beat Derby 2-0 thanks for goals from Franck Songo’o – who seems to be heavily involved with most that is going on in the reserves, creating plenty of chances for people and scoring goals too, I must admit I have not seen him turning out for the ressies, but would be interested to hear views of people that have – and Danijel Subotic.

Cranie probably will not get back into the 1st team picture this season – his antics in Spain along with several others might not help his case too – but I do think he could start becoming more prominent next season as he can play anywhere across the back four, and could also be used in midfield, although my own thinking is that he will be the eventual successor to Sol Campbell playing in the heart of defence, and is quite possibly a future England international?
