Could QPR tempt Kenny to get his Jackett?

Kenny Jackett has previous with QPR, but could the Pompey boss be tempted back to Loftus Road as replacement for Ian Holloway?

Jackett acted as Holloway’s assistant during his first spell in charge – as QPR are under performing in the Championship it has been claimed the London clubs’ hierarchy – who feel a top six position should be possible – are considering Holloway’s position.

According to the Sun ‘Portsmouth’s slow start under Jackett this season leaves the door open for a quick exit’ should QPR come calling, which they will if bottom side Bolton run out winners at the weekend.

Has it really been a ‘slow start?’ Yes, we’ve shown a lack of consistency but Pompey are eighth and just a couple of points off the play offs, so can that really be considered below expectations at Fratton Park? I do not think so.

Would QPR be tempting? Well, they’re a Championship club – a level Jackett has plenty of experience at – and he’s also got previous at Loftus Road too so it could be.

However, there doesn’t seem to be too much pressure on him at the moment and he’s already said he’s looking to be at Fratton long-term so I’m not too concerned by these rumours, are you?

Meanwhile, Curtis Main’s hopes of proving his worth to Jackett suffered an immediate setback after he looked as if he had come in from the cold.

Having been handed his first start at Gillingham a little over a week ago, Main was forced to miss the win over MK Dons on Saturday due to ‘a hamstring complaint’ that will sideline him for a couple of week.

Jackett told the News: ‘It’s unfortunate for him. He tells me it’s a similar situation to what happened last season. But he’ll only be out for a couple of weeks and he’ll be back.’
