Shaun Cooper has signed for Pompey for the third time today; as Guy gets his man he has been after for some weeks.

At this week`s Board meeting the ever improving finances of the Community Club were examined and a decision taken to allow a further addition to the squad. Cooper brings experience and can play in many different positions across the back row and in midfield.

Guy had been trying to use Danny East in this role recently and although his performances have improved in my humble opinion he is not a left back. Shaun played at full back last season and certainly linked well with the wide man in front of him leading to a memorable goal at Fratton Park.

Cooper will not quite equal Alan Knight`s record of playing for Pompey in every division of English football but he will have been on the club`s books when they have been in every division.

The finances are looking better than planned due to home gates being over 3,000 above the target and the prize money from the JPT of £5,000 for beating Torquay! There have also been some sponsorship deals tied up which were not included in the Business Plan.

Shaun who will be thirty next month as penned a deal until the January window. He will wear the number twenty shirt.
