Finishing top of the league, here’s a run down on the men who got us there: Liam O’Brien, Alex Bass, Adam Buxton, Ben Close, Brandon Haunstrup, Ben Tollitt and Adam May.

THE REST

Plenty of players who only appeared in our cup competitions: Liam O’Brien, Alex Bass, Adam Buxton, Ben Close, Brandon Haunstrup, Ben Tollitt and Adam May.

And of course a special mention to those who performed so valiantly in the U23 Premier League Cup – having to play all the way through pre-qualifying and making it to the Semi-Finals.

The future really is bright for some of these lads.

  • I always liked Liam O’Brien but with Alex Bass gaining experience on loan this season his future might be away from Fratton Park again? Suspect Cookie – if he stays – will sign Forde, not likely to leave room for O’Brien and Bass is it? Bass is probably the future… Adam Buxton was an odd one, not sure why we signed him, then again why we let him go without him getting a chance? Shame Ben Tollitt didn’t get a chance either, think he had something about him. BIG season coming up for Ben Close and Brandon Haunstrup, assuming they are offered and sign new deals. The need to be in and around the 1st team squad this season. To a lesser extend same applies to Adam May, who is under contract – think he might have the biggest future out of the lot, perhaps bar Haunstrup. There’s also some talent coming through that U23 side Frippy mentioned, that hasn’t yet broken into the 1st team squad.
