Bitter taste of defeat!

Not since his birth on September 7th has my little nephew Reece known the bitter taste of defeat, well until Wednesday that was – some 7 games and almost 2 months later this finally happened.

He has not had a bad run has he, very few of us can say that we have followed Pompey through such an unbeaten run from the beginning of our support can we? Clearly the little fella is too young to realise or understand what is going on, but one day I will explain this to him with great pleasure.

I am not taking anything for granted – as you never can tell – but with a potential ‘golden era’ being entered into I would hope that his tenure as a Pompey fan will yield far less defeats and disappointments than my early days did.

I hate losing, I am getting worse with age, not better and soon enough little Reece will see his Uncle Rug in this ‘match day’ mode and understand, no doubt finding my actions and reactions highly amusing.

Here is to hopefully another 7 games – at least – until our next defeat eh fellas!

Although to be honest I am not overly convinced we will get anything from Newcastle this week, as we do not usually. Do not forget if you have not already made your predictions in the Pompey predictions league on this match do it here.
