Glen Johnson going had seemed inevitable, whatever way you look at it, but fears that others could follow have been the thing that most have had concerns about – and one of those that could go, one of the most prized assets at the moment, is Peter Crouch

‘Discontent’ was aired in public, this was put down to words being twisted.

Either way his agent, Jonathan Barnett – who I believe is also the agent of Johno – has told The News that the England man has ‘no intention’ of leaving: ‘there has been nothing from other clubs for Peter Crouch.

‘He still has a contract with Portsmouth and he intends to be there next season. He has no intention of moving on.’

So, commitment of a sort I guess…and that will do for now.

It is my understanding that the club are not best pleased with the Big man, something we made pretty clear really and his comments, which although twisted, were right in many ways. He just needs to be a little more careful about what he says, and who he says it to!

As always, time will tell on this issue – I do not want to jump into the ‘jumping for joy’ camp at this, even though I would be delighted for him to stay, in case it does not happen but at the same time I am not going to leap into the ‘I am so depressed that everyone is leaving’ camp either…

I guess I cannot let this pass without saying whilst I appreciate his, and other players frustrations, he – and they – like all of us want to know what the future will be, but the fortunate position that they have is they get paid a fortune ‘to be limbo’, we just pay a fortune for the privilege of being in such a position!

Marc-Antoine Fortune an option?

Marc-Antoine Fortune spent some of last season on loan with West Brom and impressed many and this has led to the Nancy striker to be ‘linked’ with several premier league clubs, with Pompey ‘said’ to be one of them…

It has been confirmed that 3 premier league clubs have had offers accepted ‘in excess of ?4 million and, with add-ons, one is approaching the ?5 million mark` by Nancy sporting director Nicolas Holveck but can Pompey be one of them?

If we are who is making this decision, and more importantly does this mean due diligence is nearing a conclusion… I am not saying this is the case, just an observation ‘should’ this prove anything more than ‘speculation’ and/or ‘rumour’.

This is most likely nothing more than ‘just that, again time will tell although I would not be surprised to see him pitch up at Celtic next season even though they are ‘said’ to be out of the running at the moment.
