A free weekend?

A good or bad weekend to face Bradford? Well, it would appear this question is irrelevant as Pompey are preparing for a free weekend as the Valley Parade encounter is set to be called off.

According to the Telegraph and Argus ‘problems with the surrounding areas will raise safety concerns amid the plunging temperatures’ mean, despite the fact the ‘pitch continues to be protected by covers’, this will be called off sooner rather than later.

The ‘Beast from the East’ combined with this new ‘Storm Emma’, I’m assuming, means there’s little sign of the weather conditions easing up so the Blues will have a further weekend to reflect on recent form.

A ‘decision to postpone will be made early’ so I’m again assuming this will come at some point today, if not early Friday, with the squad scheduled to fly up to Bradford in tomorrow.

If we think our form has been patchy of late it’s not as bad as Bradford’s so playing them could have come at the right time, then again it might have had a bore draw written all over it…

Meanwhile, Danny Rose, clearly one who wouldn’t have been involved in the game, but a player who could in actual fact return before the end of the season after all, and a player very much missed, is looking to ‘get the final pieces sorted‘ on an extended deal.

Doing this would keep him at Fratton Park for another campaign at least.
