Introduction

To be honest with you none of us really know what to expect this summer do we? We can only ‘hope’ that this or that will happen, so we only really have hope, right?

Clearly our priority is to see us taken over, and by someone who will hopefully ‘do right by us!’ Granted this will be a businessman or businessmen who WILL want some return on this investment, that is football for you! But they do not need to fleece us for all they can!

All in all, like I say, this is going to, in many ways basically be ‘guess work’ and maybe some will be more ruled by the heart more than the head, a lot might have been dependant on things such as Uncle Avram staying or not I guess, and we now know that he has gone…

#27 Kanu

Every summer I say it is time to ‘cut loose’ Kanu, yet every season that follows he ‘eventually’ returns.

Pre-season is not his thing, in fact he does all he can to get out of it, then again when you are 62-years-old its understandable…

Will he stay or will he go?

Go, and I think he really could this time…

As said, every summer I say it is time for him to go yet every season he returns, but only when he is good and ready!

I say this time round he has an ultimatum of mid July to sign or the contract offer is removed though as I suspect, as much as beggars cannot be choosers, we really will not be able to hang around until the last for him to make up his mind this time.

Those moments of brilliance that have you in awe of The King are becoming fewer and farer between now though and I am not so sure he would cut it in the rough and tumble of the no power league, even though he would leave some defenders totally bamboozled by his footwork.

A final payday in Qatar, Australia or maybe even America will appeal to him more and that will be taken up instead of a new, much reduced, contract with us.
