Why would you do it?

The ‘rumours’ have been growing over the past 24-hours or so that Storrieteller wanted back into football.

Incredibly this has indeed happened!

This return has come with our former CEO joining Liss Athletic as a committee member.

Liss, who play in the Hampshire premier league, have a Storrie family member as part of the clubs set-up – his stepson is their assistant manager, well the assistant manager of their reserve side in fact.

Not content with being a committee member Storrieteller has put himself forward for the role of chairman!

It seems that his previous does not worry Liss with their secretary, quoted in The News, thinking that his arrival can only be seen to be a ‘positive situation’ for them with him being ‘a good figurehead for the club as he is very well known.’

Nick Barnes, the secretary, went on to add: ‘he is keen to help a local football club and, with his past involvement in football, he offers us a depth of knowledge which will be useful to our future. We are trying to restructure and regrow the club and Peter has been helping us with that already.

‘We will be having meetings or discussing an issue and Peter will be very calm about things and suggest a different way of solving the problem.

‘Through his experience and contacts he may say to us “what about doing it this way” or “have you tried to do it like this?”.

‘In recent seasons we have been fighting to keep this club going and on the senior side of things we are almost having to reset the club up.

‘When Peter came and offered his services to us, this was a real bonus factor in helping us to continue this work.’

Quite why anyone would want to employ him, in a football environment or otherwise, amazes me.

Clearly the people of Liss Athletic do not watch to the news, listen to the radio or read the papers!

I know some of this is garbage but have they not seen the mess that PFC has been in, in no small part down to a certain Storrieteller who played such a prominent role in our downfall and near death as a club.

If I am right he is also still facing a court appearance over tax evasion.

Yep, sounds exactly like a ‘positive’ person to be a good ‘figurehead’ at a club…
