In a bizarre turn of events Guy Whittingham is back in football with Crawley.
Remember Crawley are the side that Richie Barker was with when Whittingham was sacked, and was with for a few days after until he was sacked himself!
Whittingham has previous with their new manager John Gregory, also a former manager of ours of course and the manager at the time that Guy paid his way out of the army.
He has linked up with him again almost 25-years later to be a 1st team coach with the league 1 side.
There were some ‘rumours’ that GW could return to Fratton in a coaching capacity but lets face it that was never gonna happen was it!
I am glad that one of footballs genuine nice guys is back in the game so quickly and I wish him all the very best.
Really odd how this has all worked out though isn’t it…
