It is amazing how quickly things can change, right?
Just a couple of weeks back if you were completely honest you would have been seriously concerned by the thought of successive relegations.
Fast-forward to the end of February and this threat is ‘just about’ gone…
In fact, and it IS important for people to ‘keep calm’, many people are beginning to let their minds ‘wonder’ towards the thoughts of the play-offs again as Pompey make a late ‘charge’ for the 6th and final spot.
As always I will say that survival is the key, midtable safety would do but then the top half would then become the aim.
Of course ‘if’ it was possible then no matter what you might say publicly, privately you would be ‘hoping’ for that play-off spot…
Having secured wins, and cleansheets, numbers 1, 2, 3 and then 4 thanks to the latest one, a 2-0 win at Ipswich on Saturday, were are on a stunning run of form.
We go into games against Scunthorpe, tomorrow, and Sheff United, on Saturday in red hot form and whilst you take it ‘one game at a time’ the thoughts of not only securing as many as 6 successive win, but also as many cleansheets, is starting to linger in my mind, I tell ya!
First up, we aim for 5 of each in succession.
I did not know when the last time it was we secured 3 successive cleansheets, I am none the wiser when it was 4 but have absolutely no idea, off the top of my head, when we last managed 5?!
So, the questions are guys:
1) Can we pick up yet another win against Scunny tomorrow night?
2) And, assuming we can manage this, when was the last time we managed 5 successive cleansheets?
