Accrington’s long unbeaten run will see Stanley, 12th, go into the visit of Crawley with an outside chance of making it into the top-seven as they are four of the play-offs. The Red Devils’ three points advantage over second-bottom Newport should mean they’ve got enough of a gap to stay in the Football League.
Having won just once in the last 10 Barnet is a game Wycombe, 13th, would fancy their chances of winning – keeping alive a play-off bid, which is fading.
Cambridge, 11th, are just three points off the top-seven, which is a position Exeter, fifth, currently occupy – the Grecians could strengthen this, in fact potentially secure it with a victory at the Abbey Stadium.
One win in 10 isn’t promotion form but Carlisle, seventh, hold the final play-off spot against promotion rivals Stevenage. Back-to-back defeats have ended Boro’s automatic hopes but they hold a four point advantage over Blackpool, seventh.
Cheltenham, 21st, are three unbeaten but just two above second-bottom Newport so could slip into the relegation zone should they slip up in the visit of Grimsby to Whaddon Road.
Victory wouldn’t confirm Doncaster as champions but it could effectively claim already promoted Donny the title. Three without a win has seen Blackpool, seventh, drop out of the top-seven but a win at the Keepmoat and Pools could return to a play-off place.
Leyton Orient will have relegation out of the Football League confirmed on Easter Monday should they lose against relegation rivals Hartlepool. Orient aren’t likely to avoid the drop whatever but should they secure a win at Brisbane Road it would prolong the League 2 stay for at least another game and could see Poolie dropped into the bottom two.
After securing a first win in three Mansfield came back into play-off contention on Good Friday. Should the Stags see off the challenge of Luton they could move back into the top-seven – the Hatters on the other hand need to win to maintain an outside chance of an automatic promotion finish, which is unlikely anyway.
Morecambe’s first win in 10 should have secured their Football League place ahead of the visit of Colchester to the Globe Arena. The U’s, ninth, are two points off the top-seven heading into this game.
In-form Notts County will look to improve on their five game unbeaten run – including four wins – when promotion-chasing Portsmouth come to Meadow Lane. Victory for Pompey could confirm automatic promotion.
A Plymouth victory over Newport would confirm the Pilgrims’ place in League 1 next season with three games to spare. However, the Exiles have plenty to play for when travelling to Devon as a win at Home Park could take the second-bottom side out of the relegation zone.
Three successive defeats in a run of one win in 10 sees Yeovil just four points above the bottom-two. Defeat from visiting Crewe – who could confirm their own Football League status – and the Glovers’ relegation concerns would grow.
It goes without saying the expectation; most definitely the hope at least, will be for a positive result. But will this happen? We’ll find out soon enough.
