Traore moves on…

Another player left Pompey on Friday as Djimi Traore bid his farewells when he joined Rennes on loan for the rest of the season with a permanent move lined up at the end of this loan should all work out.

Around about a year ago Traore arrived from Charlton to what can best be described as a ‘luke warn reception’, as in all honesty he was not the type of player that we expected to sign but in all fairness he came in to be an almost ever present after his arrival – this season however he has only made 5 appearance, the last of which came as an injury time sub last weekend.

My thinking upon his arrival was that he was always likely to be a ‘stop gap’ signing, and so this has proved, but again as said although I will admit that I was not best pleased when he signed – but I had agreed to give him a break – he did a job.

It is highly unlikely that he will return but you never know… good luck to the fella though and he must be thanked for what he did do for us.
