The anticipated departure of Dave Kitson has been agreed with his exit to be ‘signed off this weekend.’

Trevor Birch had this to say to The News: ‘Dave Kitson has walked away from a substantial amount of money and hasn’t even got a club lined up.

‘We thank him for doing that which continues the fighting chance to save the club.’

Credit where it is due to Kitson, as I said earlier in the week to walk away from the club without another lined up has me saying ‘fair play’ to the guy.

In all honesty my thoughts are that he has been, all in all, a sorry excuse for a footballer during his time at Fratton who had been happy to drift along somewhat aimlessly whilst picking up a great wage – that said the club, or should I say idiots that used to run it, offered this to him so it is them that are to blame but again credit goes to him for moving on.

The News says that under terms of the compromise, the former Reading forward will be paid the money he is owed over four years.

Of course not 100% officially done yet but once it is signed off this weekend we will be down to two 1st team players, Tal Ben-Haim and Liam Lawrence

Who will be the one to turn off the lights?!
