We all know that Vital Pompey is the best Pompey site of its kind out there, of course there are others but none are as good as this one, or part of a network as good as Vital Football – and this is not me blowing the Vital Pompey, or Vital Football trumpet, people are always saying it!
In paultsmouth and myself – pompeyrug – we have had two editors – I do hate referring to us like this as it makes us sound like ‘journalist’, which to a degree we are, but a ‘different breed’ of course – on this site that have kept things ticking over nicely, steadied what was a rocky ship prior to our tenure and more than helped move it forward!
More and more of you have been getting involved putting forward your thoughts for publication over the months, which is appreciated by us as it is the readership here – and after all this is what the site is all about! – but there are two names that you have probably seen more and more over the past what, 10-12 months I guess, as having ‘written by’ attributed to them.
These names, usually seen at least one a week, would have been Chix and eastneydave… As such, in my wisdom as ‘the landlord’ after weeks and months of ‘threatening to do so’ I felt it time to add them to the Vital Pompey team in an official capacity.
So, I approached them with an offer – luckily they were free agents, and despite playing hardball and trying to ‘keep the options open’ I knew what they were doing and they would crack! The extended trial period was passed with flying colours, the medicals were somewhat dubious as one has a birth certificate that claims he is ‘only 24’… hmm! This issue was ironed out, terms agreed – my terms of course! -and a deal done, so cast your eye to the top right hand corner of the page and you will see the list of ‘site journalists’ now contains the ‘professor of history’ and ‘toastmaster investigator’ among the ranks. The current images displayed are merely temporary, permanent ones are on the way…
I think this ‘honour’, as not any Tom, Dick or Harry – not even Redknapp without proving himself! – would have this honour bestowed upon them, but I think it is fair to say this has been well and truly earned so it is my honour and privilege to officially announce the as the latest signings for Vital Pompey. We all know what they can do so if they remain match fit and do not start taking their place for granted they will do a sterling job – it also means they can add their own bloody articles from now on instead of me having to sort them out and publish all the time 🙂
As I say we all know what they can do, but join me in giving them a ‘Vital welcome’ to the team, which by adding them will only help Vital Pompey get even bigger on this network – and there are only a handful of clubs ahead of us now, and just a few from the premier league – and bigger and better in terms of the whole t’internet and help this site to be our first port of call for most of us on the net!
