‘Aruna Dindane will now go on a goalscoring spree following his hat-trick against Wigan’, not my vote, yours – although these findings from pompeyrug’s poll are thoughts that I want to see happen but I am not entirely sure this will happen to be honest…
Firstly, the title, I have been waiting to use the phrase ‘that’ll ding dang do for me,’ which is from Max and Paddy, so with this being about Dindane it was just about perfect to make that small amendment to use here.
Anyway, whilst Dindane has himself said that his first premier league goal would see more to follow – and technically he was right as a couple more followed that 1st in the same game – I am not convinced that he is a prolific striker, although I obviously hope he does prove to be!
It is clear that strikers thrive on goals, if the Ivorian cannot grow in confidence from that treble he never will, although once again – as I said when he signed – I do not think that we should pin all our hopes on him, or even expect too much.
We need a striker to score 10-15 goals this season, hopefully he can but if not then I think that if between them – Dindane, Freddy P, Tommy Smith, Kanu, Danny Webber and even John Utaka I guess – they can score some 15-20 goals at least, which you would hope is possible as it is only 3 league goals each, this ‘should’ be enough for us…
