Spurs turn down loan approach?

The Daily Mail is reporting that Spurs have turned down an approach made by Pompey to take some players from them on loan.

The report did not say which players were involved but has said they were ‘a defender and a midfielder’, Redknapp is quoted as saying: ‘I’m nowhere near getting anyone at the moment. I can’t say I’ve got anybody lined up.

‘I’ve tried clubs like Tottenham, who have lots of players, but they don’t want to loan you players or help out like they used to.

‘Maybe they see us as competition now. Two years back, Spurs let me sign Pedro Mendes, Sean Davis and Noe Pamarot but now, maybe, they see us as a side who are aiming for a UEFA Cup place just like they are’.

If true I do not really know who the players could be, and as such would not like to speculate at all…

Both Franck Songo’o and Marc Wilson, who both recently returned from loan spells could come into the 1st team picture – if for no other reason than the fact that they might be needed to make up the numbers. To be honest I would quite like to see Songo’o given a chance anyway.

Both played, along with new signing Danijel Subotic in the reserves yesterday in a hard earned Pompey draw with Chelsea.
