Redknapp wants at least two more

After convincing Sol Campbell that Pompey is the place to be Harry Redknapp is looking to sign at least two more before the season begins.

I think it`s fair to say that after Glen Johnson`s loan and David Thompson`s free transfer arrivals we are all more than pleased with Campbell`s, if for nothing else other than the simple reason as Redknapp himself said to Sky Sports “he’ll give the place a real lift just coming in.”

We will all now be hoping that Redknapp can add at least two more (personally I`d like more but I am greedy!) as he would like before the Blackburn game. Even after that we will still have up until the end of August 31st to sign others! Ideally we would like players to arrive before the season starts so they can begin bedding in before we get underway, but if they are the right people we`d be happy to wait, if we had to, right up to the stroke of midnight on that Thursday.

Without wanting to speculate too much on who might arrive I will say that although a deal seems to be taking a long time to complete Peruvian Juan Vargas would seem to be one of these and, maybe not to everyone`s approval, David James (Redknapp`s recent comments mean he clearly rates him) looks like being another, the latter possibly within the next couple of days with perhaps a three-year contract in the offering?

I make a personal plea on behalf of us all “a forward or forwards please Mr Redknapp!”
