Harry Redknapp has told The News how he plans to make moves in the transfer window as soon as he can – ideally as soon as it re-opens for business on Tuesday: ‘we’ve got to get busy now.

‘We really need to have people coming in on January 1 if we can.

‘Getting them is the most difficult part’.

Spurs and Arsenal are teams that he has sounded out, so it looks as though we will be looking to do business with one, or both of these clubs, in the case of Arsenal without any question purely in loan capacities only.

If he can start getting players in immediately this must be done, the sooner we have players in the sooner they can work their way into our squad and side as well as get to know us – we do not want to be waiting until the African nations comes along and then throw them in.

Speaking of the African nations, he also gave his usual ‘we will lose 4 players’ and ‘I cannot afford to lose players’ speeches, but hearing him say that he wants to move as early as he can for players when the sales start is music to my ears – hopefully this can be the case…
