The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game between Portsmouth and Blackpool this Saturday.

Portsmouth host Blackpool on Saturday February 24 for the game at Fratton Park and the match carries a 3pm kick off.

Referee: Gavin Ward
Assistant Refs: Garry Maskell and Gregory Read
Fourth Official: Nicholas Kinseley

Match Day referee Ward has officiated 35 games in 2017/18, showing 95 yellow cards and four red cards so far.

He took in 41 games in 2016/17 with a return of 150 yellow cards and six red cards.

His highest card count that year was ten yellows in the game between Barnet and Wycombe Wanderers. He also showed eight yellows in the game between Cheltenham Town and Blackpool.

He took in 35 matches in 2015-16 and in those games, across all competitions and football divisions, he handed out a total of 113 yellow cards and two red cards.

He was most card happy in the match between Brighton and Birmingham on November 28 with a total of eight yellows being shown. He also showed seven yellows in the Bristol City v Leeds encounter on August 19, and six yellows and one red on December 20 in the game between Leeds and Preston.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of the players edge closer to automatic bans.
