Harry Redknapp has warned Rafa Benitez that if he continues to wear a mask and play the part of ‘Dick Turpin’ then we will not be moving for Peter Crouch, as we will not be robbed into paying more than we want…
Benitez has been looking for £15m for the England man, although recent reports have said he has lowered his mask and this asking price slightly to £10m – an amount that makes Redknapp more interested as he told The News: ‘if the price is right something could happen.
‘If they wanted £10m it would certainly be more interesting.
‘We do need another front man. At the moment we have David Nugent, Kanu and Jermain Defoe.
‘We need another one up there, at least. You need to have at least four strikers. So I need another good one up there.’
Villa are again being ‘linked’ with Crouch with a deal involving him and cash for Gareth Barry being suggested.
You guessed it guys… I still think that we will re-sign him this summer, but then again I could be wrong – I often am!
Redknapp also confirmed that most of his targets are based in England, but is not ruling out bringing players in from abroad.

Do not get me wrong I like the fella but not enough to pay decent money for him – but when I found out he was a free agent I became more interested…
Harry Redknapp has been keen on the Hungarian for some while now and with him out of contract shortly – and still to sign a new deal with West Brom – ‘reports’ suggest that we could look to get him in on a free but Everton, Bolton, Wigan and Boro are also ‘monitoring the situation’ with Benfica said to have ‘offered him a contract’.
As a free I think he would be a decent addition to the squad, had we been paying for him I would not have been that keen to be honest.
