Potts going back to West Ham

Tomorrow will be the final game that Dan Potts will play for Pompey.

Well, at least this side of Christmas and the new year.

His loan ends after the game at Bristol Rovers tomorrow and he will be going back to West Ham but departs with words in the News that he is not ruling out a return down the line, in fact he would like this as he has enjoyed his time at Fratton despite the results not going our way.

Playing 1st team football is the key thing for him, and any youngster but I am not so sure that we should be doing this with him for West Ham’s benefit going forward to be honest and we should be turning our attentions back to doing this with our own…

I am not sure how much longer Dan Butler is out for (he is still injured, right?) but as soon as he is back we need to get him back into the mix!

Potts did ok, he certainly had a good delivery on him, but I would not say that he was any better than Butler in my opinion so lets just hope that Richie Barker gives him a chance sooner, rather than later…

If not Butler, maybe Andy Awford knows of another gem coming through his academy set-up?

Lets remember that he is an award winner so he knows a thing or two about up and coming players!
