Pot, kettle and all that?

If you are ANYTHING like me you will hate the thought of anyone ‘slagging the club off’, or at least appearing to too much and will have a view that no one, bar yourself is allowed to do this 🙂

Well I am not exactly slagging the club off although I do see a certain irony level with the ‘reports’ in The Sunday Mirror today…

Basically, in a nutshell, Boro owe us a further £1m payment ‘should’ Gary O’Neil make his 100th appearance for them, with him stuck on 99 now – although he is ‘said’ to be injured now anyway!

This impending payment is ‘said’ to have seen them try to strike a deal with us where they pay us a fraction of this amount, as little as 10% of it allegedly, which is also ‘said’ not to have gone down very well with the admin team, with a ‘club spokesperson’ saying: ‘we can confirm that Middlesbrough have been in touch and have attempted to renegotiate the payment terms regarding the final £1m payment due to the club.

‘The administrators are absolutely furious.

‘They have told Middlesbrough in no uncertain terms that they will take legal action if they fail to honour the contract in place.’

Going back to my original thoughts, I DO NOT like slagging this club off, and think that no one should be allowed to do this, bar me 🙂 Like I also say though, other might think this way too?

Although, whilst we should quite rightly expect full payment, as per the agreement, we must all see the ‘irony’ of us getting the hump and threatening legal action if Boro ‘fail to honour the contract in place’.

As the title says, pot, kettle and all that, plenty of contracts and so on have not been ‘honoured’ by this club that we all love so much, right…

Although Boro chief exec Keith Lamb has since responded to this, expressing a ‘disappointment’ at comments made and insists that they WILL honour the agreement: ‘I am surprised by the comments attributed to a Portsmouth spokesman.

‘All of our payments to Portsmouth relating to Gary’s transfer are up to date and I can assure the club and their administrator that should any further payments become due under the terms of the transfer then we will of course honour them.’
