Pompey to see off Spurs!

Pompey will beat Spurs at the Fortress this weekend! Not my vote, yours – although these findings from pompeyrug’s poll are thoughts that I completely agree with.

We have found it ‘tough’, to say the least to score at home recently but in all fairness the last 3 league games that have ended 0-0 have been against defensively well-organised sides – Spurs are not that at all… they have been awful defensively this season.

So even if we do not play with a 4-4-2 formation – that many want to see at home – and stick with the 4-5-1/4-3-3 – which many also agree is best suited away from the Fortress – I would be amazed if we cannot score a couple – at least once – against Spurs, that is not to say that I cannot see them failing to score either, as I can. I do think we will score more though as we will get plenty of chances.

I felt we could have beaten West Ham, City and Everton but it was always going to be mighty difficult, whist I am not banking with Spurs being a ‘nailed on 3 points’ I will be bitterely disappointed if we do not win to be honest.

One thing that we can be sure of is that ‘cheat’ Didier Zokora will get a ‘welcome reception’ tomorrow wont he! It will be a reception that he more than deserves after his shocking play-acting that won Spurs a penalty that ultimately won the game at White Hart Lane last season.

I would have been as disgusted with one of our players as I have been with him had they cheated as disgracefully as he had and would not have made exceptions, clearly though it is easier for you to accept – as much as you, well I know I, might not want this – when this goes for, rather than against you…

What the poll asked – Pompey v Spurs?

How you voted – Pompey win 66%, Spurs win 22%, Draw 14%

Current Poll – We are rapidly reaching the half way point of the season, and at the moment things are going fantastically well for Pompey.

We are only a couple of games away from the midway point of the season and so far have 30 points from 16 games, not bad in anybodies books is it? But can we sustain this form, will it dip or will it get even better, so what are you expecting come May – this is what ‘whitestones’ wants to know with this – ‘how many points do you think Pompey will have at the end of the season?’ Let the poll do the talking before we do when it finishes.
