Pompey to move for Swedish veteran?

‘Silly season’ rubbish, or is this something with some basis to it?

According to something that I stumbled across on the net this morning we are plotting a move for Swedish legend, but unfortunately veteran striker Henrik Larsson.

A move for a veteran would not surprise too many, and several have said that this is something they would expect Harry Redknapp to do, but I do not think that too many would have expected it to have been for a veteran with quite the reputation that Larsson does.

He is out of contract with Helsingborg so he would not cost anything, so a move on a free would be possible and could maybe tempt him back for one last hurrah in the premier league after his brief spell with United last season.

From what I know Larsson keeps himself in peak condition, so if he would be willing to sign a short term contract with us then as much as the age thing is a concern needs must, we need a goalscorer so for nothing other than his wages why not – his reputation speaks for itself.

The fact that he was even linked with a return to United does seem to show that he is still believed to be able to cut it, but leaving his family behind again could be something that I feel he might not be prepared to do again…
