Pompey Signings For Next Season

As the season nears an end, talk is already about who Pompey will sign for the next season. So is there any reason why one possible target should be even considered?

We have been amazed at some of the names Harry Redknapp has brought to this club over the last five years, with Sol Campbell and David James probably the most significant ever. Other inspirational names have been Paul Merson, Tim Sherwood, Steve Stone, Miguel Pedro Mendes, Patrik Berger and of course Teddy Sheringham.

He has of course not been always successful with some of his signings, Ivica Mornar being just one example and some have started brightly but then faded away like Lualua and perhaps Andy Cole. It has to be said though that Harry is not afraid to put his head above the parapet and is always confident in the signings he makes. Which makes it a little difficult to understand why latest news is emerging that he is still hot on the trail of Titus Bramble – hardly the most successful or trustworthy defender, do we really need yet another shaky player at the back when Treore is already giving us more problems than most opposition attacks could ever do?

What we are interested in is your opinion, who you would like to see here at Pompey next season – within reason of course. Harry will not have carte blanche or a bottomless pit of money so let`s assume he will have a maximum purchase budget of £20million. Using that sum, who would you like to see at Fratton Park next season and why. Also, what are your thoughts on Bramble, should we even be thinking about signing him in the first place? Perhaps you would like to give your vote in the poll that is to the lower right of the page?

We need more firepower if we are to build on what has been achieved this season; we also need more cover at the back too. So let us know who you would like to sign and for that matter who you would like to dispose of – any player you think you can raise money on can be added to your £20million budget, but again please be realistic.
