So, what did Thursday bring, well Thursday afternoon/evening more to the point, as this is when more news’ came through…

Decision to be made on trialist’s

A number of trialist’s turned out for Pompey against Havant & Waterloovile on Tuesday, with the same – and maybe others – likely to do the same against Basingstoke at the weekend.

Paul Hart has already said that ‘getting the best out of Eugen Bopp‘ is something he feels he can do, so I would imagine that he is here to stay on trial for the long-term, and why not? But lets make a decision after we have played the likes of Vitoria SC, Benfica and Rangers and see how he does – I do not think we can make a decision on him based on performances against the likes of Havant, Basingstoke and Eastleigh can we…

Thierry Audel, Fabrice Pancrate and Modeste M’Bami are further trialist’s that are looking to earn deals, with sky sports saying that ‘Pompey are expected to make a decision over whether to hand deals to trialist’s after the weekend.’

Again, with these, and others I would think, looking at them longer would be the way to go – that said these are players that have been with top European clubs in recent times, Bopp has not, so I could understand more if others were dealt in sooner rather than later…

Ricketts offer accepted…

…but it would appear that Sam Ricketts is not on his way to Pompey, as was ‘thought’ to be the case, he looks more likely to join Bolton.

An offer from an unnamed club has been accepted, which Hull have confirmed, with them also confirming that the Welsh international will now go and talk with this club – very, very likely to be Bolton.

Poulsen mentioned again

Christian Poulsen was strongly linked with Pompey in January, but nothing was doing. The Juventus midfielder is again being ‘linked’ with a move to England, and this is again seeing Pompey credited with ‘an interest’, along with others.

A ‘representative working on behalf of Juventus in England’, Lee Anderson, told sky sports that ‘four southern-based clubs in England’ had shown and interest and with a meeting being held with someone on Thursday night it was hoped ‘things could be wrapped up by Monday.’

There is little, or no evidence that the 29-year-old will be coming to Pompey – all we can do is ‘wait and see’, although in my thinking I would be surprised if we saw him come to Fratton to be honest… Spurs and West Ham are ‘said’ to be ‘leading this chase’.

Plenty to talk about here guys – what are your thoughts on these things? Let us known below.
