Nathan Thompson’s performance was seen as the best one from a Pompey player against Scunthorpe last Saturday in that 1-1 draw.

Having been asked to vote – based on your experience of the game as a watching one at Fratton Park or listening on the radio – with 44% Thompson got this ahead of on-loan Wolves midfielder Conor Ronan to win the Vital Pompey MotM poll.

What the poll asked – Scunthorpe MotM

How you voted – Thompson 44%
Ronan 22%
McGee 13%
Lowe 11%
Clarke 5%
Close 5%
Donohue 0%
Pitman 0%
Naismith 0%
Sub – May 0%
Sub – Kennedy 0%
Hawkins 0%
Burgess 0%

I wasn’t at Fratton for this game – all being well the last of a hat trick of successive games I’ve had to miss – and couldn’t follow it either so I cannot add much, I’ll merely back the masses here and hope the fact Ronan came in second is a positive of what’s to come from the loanee.

Time to move on; next up we head to the New York Stadium for the first ever meeting with Rotherham at this ground.

Victory, as we look for a first win in three, could be enough to take Pompey back into the top six – assuming Charlton fail to secure the points – whereas a home win could potentially see the Millers leapfrog both the Blues and Addicks into sixth, so it’s all to play for.

Ahead of this we’re looking for your views, as always, on what you think and how you feel this will go? That requires you to vote on the latest poll – on the front pages or in the forum – in one of ways given.

What the poll is asking – Rotherham v Pompey

Options to vote – Pompey win
