Firstly, sorry for the delay in doing this – I have been flat out with work on here, Vital England and Vital Football in general, not to mention other things going on. But FINALLY I have the final updates!

Fantasy Football – ‘Vital Pompey League’

There was no change in the fantasy.premierleague.com ‘Vital Pompey League’ after the final round of games, so portsm@ retained top spot to win the 2009/10 title on 2260pts in total, beating Krap Nottarf by 30pts in the end.

This is how the final 3, of 82, finished:

Team Pts
1 portsm@ 2260
2 Krap Nottarf 2230
3 The Pompey Chimes 2223

PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately as the game was set up as a ‘head-to-head’ Fantasy Football game those not registered before the season kicked-off could not join… I had been told, having contacted the people that run the game, you cannot change this from ‘head-to-head’ to a ‘classic version’ once you have started!

This explained why people were not able to join once the season started – the only way I could have amend things would be to create a new league and start fresh from October onwards, but I suspected people would have wanted this as you could not carry previous point over into a new league…

Thank you to everyone that took part in the fantasy football game last season.

Again, sorry that the league was set up the way it was, on a ‘head to head’ basis, which meant people could not join in after the season started. Had I known this was the case I would have done it another way.

It is for this reason that no prize was offered, as it would have been unfair in many ways. Sorry to the winner that this was not the case…

If you want to do a fantasy football game next season we can, using the same premier league one, if not we will just focus on the predictions league – let me know though what you want to do guys!

‘Pompey Predictions League’

Still there was also no change in the Pompey predictions league after the Everton game. The final game of our premier league stay, and the premier league season so uspompeyfan retained top spot for a 24th game on 86pts in total to claim the title for a 2nd year running!

I think it is safe to say that this was deserved after so long leading.

14pts from pompeygray was enough to see him climb into 2nd place on 82pts in total but was not quite enough for him to claim, what always looked going into the Everton game, an unlikely crown in the end.

This is how top 3, of over 50, finished:

Thank you also to everyone that took part in the predictions league game last season.

The winner (uspompeyfan, for a 2nd year running), 2nd (pompeygray) and 3rd (paultsmouth) places, will all receive a prize – I have emailed, and private messaged you so if you get back to me we will organise passing this on.

Please do this via email though as it is quicker and easier for me to check, use this email addy: portsmouth@vitalfootball.co.uk.

We WILL be doing the predictions league again next season, and prizes will be offered once more, although as the manager of the month awards did not exactly work out as planned this season what I will do is just donate these amounts, as no one claimed them really, to charity – NinjaTim’s one (Tim’s Kilimanjaro climb for Everyman – here) unless anyone has any objections?

Next season what I would like, assuming the monthly winner agrees, is to donate these monthly predication league manager of the month amounts to the charity of the collective Vital Pompey members’ choice, which I think we would ‘probably’ be the Linvoy one, as that is the one that we have supported previously.

PLEASE NOTE: There WILL be fantasy football and predictions league games run over on Vital England this summer, this is open to ALL Vital Football members – more details will be announced on this shortly, so keep your eyes peeled!
