Manager Alain Perrin has admitted that pressure is mounting down at Fratton Park, however he does feel he has Portsmouth going in the right direction.

Pompey are 15th in the table at the moment, and with wins a less than regular occurrance since he took charge the club is never far from speculation over who could replace him.

‘We have a team to play for a place in the middle of the ranking,’ Perrin told L’Equipe.

‘If the events are favourable, the team?s quality will allow us to get that position, but at the moment we are in some trouble.

‘The situation is not serious. We are 15th in the rankings, and for a club that plays for salvation it is quite a serene situation.

‘But our coming matches could deteriorate that situation, I don?t regret having joined the Premier League. Against all the odds, my chairman keeps his faith in me.

‘But the sack can come. But here people are aware of the work I do, and the team’s improvements.?
