Pennymoon returns with her latest offering – the years go by but the situation remains the same, in many ways.

What Goes Around…?

When our club was one hundred years old
It looked like we might have to fold
Then along came Milan
With a brand new game plan
To bring us back in from the cold

When Gaydamak came on the scene
He bought us a shiny new team
But the boom turned to bust
And the shine turned to rust
And things were once more looking lean

A saviour appeared – Al Fahim
but things were not all that they seemed
For all of his flash
There just wasn’t the cash
And he disappeared off of the scene

Al Faraj now stepped up to the mark
To help bring us out of the dark
But he did not pay the wages
for ages and ages
And eventually left Fratton Park

Pompey then was acquired by Balram
A more down to earth kind of man
He looked at the accounts
With their huge debt amounts
And said someone must carry the can

So we’re now stuck in administration
Grinding our teeth with frustration
Although twelve years have passed
We are all just aghast
That we’re back in the same situation!
