Pompey’s Papa Bouba Diop says he’s surprised that Reading haven’t had a better start to the season as he prepares to face Steve Coppell’s men this weekend.
I’ve now been at Portsmouth for a month and I have to say, I’ve never enjoyed my football more. It’s fantastic to play for a manager who really believes in me. I’d like to think that in the games I’ve played, I’ve done the manager and the fans justice.
‘I have been surprised by Reading’s start because they played some fantastic football last season. Maybe teams are more aware of them now and that has been a difficulty for them. But it will still be a hard game for us because they have players that deserve a lot of respect.’
