Another day and yet more of the ‘traditional’ Dave Nugent to leave talk – I guess it has been a few since the ‘Redknapp says he can leave’ news…

Anyway today The Daily Mirror says that Stoke and Hull are ‘locked in a battle’ to sign the striker, with a £3m fee reported.

As ever I will say I hope he stays, and to be honest would prefer Kanu was sacrificed but if this does happen and Pompey think it is in the best interest of the club to let him leave then I would have to go with it, as in fairness we have not got that much wrong in recent times have we!

This talk will carry on until he finally does leave or Harry Redknapp makes a clear indication that he wants to keep him, my own thinking is the former is the most likely scenario…

==========

Pablo Aimar is a name that I would suggest most people are familiar with? If not check him out on youtube or Goggle him and you should find all you need to – but I can tell you this he is a classy footballer!

Well, the reports in The Sun today are that Harry Redknapp is looking to muscle in on a deal that Benfica reportedly wanted to do for the Argentinean international, with Newcastle and Sunderland also linked with the £6m man…

Quite how true these reports are I am not sure, and how he would fit into our set up again I am not sure as he plays off the strikers or as a wide man. Hmm, as the wide man! Maybe he could then, but off the strikers would be a pretty attacking set up.

Anyone that shares a birth date with me, which Aimar does must be alright, in fact he is exactly the same age as me – we were both born on 3rd November 1979, you find out something new everyday!

And finally the Peter Crouch move is slowly moving forward, about as quickly as Kanu on a good day, but it is moving forward nevertheless with the Pompey Site making this announcement: ‘Peter Crouch has agreed personal terms with Pompey over his switch from Liverpool.

‘The two clubs have agreed an undisclosed fee for the 27-year-old England international, who spent nine months at Pompey in 2001/2.

‘Crouch is due at Fratton Park in the next 48 hours for a medical before completing the deal.’

Conflicting reports on when a medical will take place are doing the rounds, most say it was done, others that is has not even been done yet… We had hoped this would be done on Monday, but Tuesday was looking more likely, if not then today – but again maybe not…

This deal will happen though guys, I have always said it would and always been confident, but I would not be surprised if it was saved until Friday now where we can announce it in a Friday afternoon press conference, maybe with another signing?

As always guys, thoughts on all the above please…
