One, maybe two, to target?

Will Pompey be undertaking any deals until the proposed takeover of Michael Eisner is resolved, one way or the other? Those including a fee, probably not. Then again would many monetary deals be done regardless? I’m not sure they would.

I have to say I do not think we can afford, figuratively speaking, to wait on deals. If Paul Cook has his eyes on free agents why hang around, touch base with these players and make them happen, well, try anyway.

Those currently at Fratton Park need their futures resolved – most of those who helped us become 2016-17 champions should be tied down, which I’m sure they well. Well, again, at least we’ll try, or should try.

Marc McNulty, remember him? You should as he had a fine loan at Fratton last season. Admittedly he wasn’t as effective once Caolan Lavery returned to Sheffield Wednesday, funnily enough a player signed by Sheffield United last summer as McNulty took his leave of the Blades for a loan at Bradford, he did end the season back at Bramall Lane though. With McNulty proving himself at the Park, also in league one, as a free agent could a deal be do-able?

Released by Sheffield United last week, McNulty’s up for grabs… funnily enough I have just seen in the News he is on the shopping list – maybe I should have posted this on Wednesday when I had the idea.

Wages could be an issue (with McNulty), but I’m not sure that would apply to Graham Carey? Out of contract at Plymouth, he’s been one of the best midfielder players I’ve seen in recent years, who I’m sure is capable of the step up to league one. Would Argyle really offer wages in excess of what Pompey could? Surely not.

Carey has been offered a new deal by Plymouth but wouldn’t it rub salt into their wounds if Pompey not only stole ‘their title’ but we then took away their most prized asset from Home Park!

McNulty and/or Carey, what do you reckon?
