Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

9/10/1908: Harold Methven
9/10/1952: Steve Aizlewood
9/10/1976: Michael Panapolous

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Harold Methven, Steve Aizlewood and Michael Panapolous – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.

Methven was of course way before my time – and that of anyone looking on – with the later Aizlewood a player I recall well as a footballer but mostly from his time in the game after Pompey.

Panapolous was certainly one of those frustrating players, he came with potential and had a positive reputation, but didn’t do enough for the Blues on a consistent basis with him one of those ‘nearly men’ in all honesty.

Now onto the games previously played.

Played – 16
Won – 4
Drawn – 8
Lost – 4

As we’ve only managed one game since the early 1990s, that being a JPT game, it is again little wonder I draw a blank today in terms of those I’ve been too personally.

What are your memories of Methven, Aizlewood and/or Panapolous from their Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?
