22/9/1966: John Moncur
9/22/1996: Matt Clarke
Happy birthday to Robert Salmond, John Moncur and Matt Clarke – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.
Salmond was before my time and the time of anyone whereas Moncur is one I know really from his West Ham career.
I think we should all know Clarke well enough with him looking like he’ll have a decent career with the Blues – I know I rate him very highly though.

Just the one for me today, which was a win for a monster midweek away trip to Carlisle in 2009 – it was a game that looked like it would be an upset defeat with us then a Premier League side. I arrived into Brunton Park in time to see them take an early lead but thankfully we battled back to win in the end.
