22/9/1911: Robert Salmond

From the ed…

Another couple of birthdays, Salmond a long time before me and although I don’t remember Moncur from Pompey days I do remember him in footie. He’s got a son now who plays, and is doing very well by all accounts, for Colchester!

17-matches played previously, not too much in it but we don’t often draw as we’ve only managed that twice! We either win or lose and have ended up losing 8 compared to 7 wins.

I can only claim the one, but what a monster trek to make and on a midweek day too! The league cup win at Carlisle back in 2009. There’s talk of doing this one again this season, which is at least on a Saturday!

For his goal against Carlisle, and I think this is when Vanden Borre started to show promised for Pompey, he was playing champions league football last season and in the Belgium squad, I’ll use his image today.
