None expected to join Cook at Wigan?

No one will join former Pompey boss Paul Cook at new club Wigan. Well, according to the voters in our most recent poll anyway – admittedly I’d be surprised if that proved to be the case to be honest.

I anticipated, if not expected, at least one, perhaps two, to leave Fratton Park and follow Cook to Wigan. This could still prove the case but over fifty percent of those to cast a vote felt otherwise and any that did leave Pompey wouldn’t do so in order to head to the DW Stadium.

What the poll asked – How many will join Cookie at Wigan?

How you voted – None 53%
One 24%
Two 19%
Three or more 4%

At the end of the day it depends what Kenny Jackett’s plans with the current Pompey squad are really doesn’t it? If he does decide those under contract – the out-of-contract players’ deals are more or less done – aren’t part of his future plans the ex-Blues boss will no doubt circle, depending on who was deemed surplus to requirements.

Jackett has already said he would expect Cookie to hold an interest in his former players but this didn’t mean it would happen. Will it? Assuming the majority that have spoken in this poll are right, no.
