Jack Whatmough’s – yes, I know we need a new image – performance was seen as the best one from a Pompey player against Oxford last Sunday.

Having been asked to vote – based on your experience of the game as a watching one at Fratton Park, listening on the radio or viewing the game on Sky Sports – with 48% Whatmough, once again, got this to win the Vital Pompey MotM poll.

What the poll asked – Oxford MotM

How you voted – Whatmough 48%
Thompson 12%
Lowe 12%
Clarke 8%
McGee 8%
Walkes 4%
Naismith 4%
Pitman 4%
Sub – Evans 0%
Sub – May 0%
Ronan 0%
Close 0%
Donohue 0%

Well the local lad has certainly stepped up to the plate since returning from his latest injury hasn’t he! There’s little doubt Whatmough is a huge favourite with the Fratton faithful, as such we all hoped he could return from injury and be the player he was before another setback – the signs in his three outings since suggest he has.

Having been voted as our Man of the Match at Oldham, following an impressive 70-odd minutes return against Gillingham before that, Whatmough again put in a performance to please. However, as hinted earlier in the week I do have a feeling he could soon be given a rest? Much as you want to keep playing those in form.

So, we move onto this into the next phase of the season, the climax of it. Having won back-to-back games we head into the Easter period and, which is somewhat amazing given a mixed 2018 so far, potentially do so knowing we could able to end it back in the top-six, leaving a play-off push within our own hands.

Could we still manage this?! A number of signs point towards us falling short, but two games in three days really could make or break this, couldn’t they?

This is what the latest poll is looking at and this requires you to vote – on the front pages or in the forum – in one of ways given.

What the poll is asking – Play-offs still on? If so, will Easter make or break it?

Options to vote – It’s on, but we MUST win both games
No, think we’ll miss out regardless
You know what, I really don’t know!

What do you think?
