Kanu deal under suspicion

As details emerge from Lord Stevens` report, managers and players may just be getting a little hot under the collar after the Daily Express have run a story saying that ‘FA bung investigators believe they are on the verge of a breakthrough after probing the transfer of Kanu.’

Apparently, the FA are looking into the transfer of Kanu from Arsenal to West Bromwich Albion, so at least it is not focusing on us. This could also go to some way in explaining why Pompey were mentioned as one of the five clubs who were specifically named today.

According to the Express, the report ‘contains “100 lever-arch files” containing a huge amount of evidence of a multitude of rule breaches involving 17 transfers, six clubs and eight agents.’

Personally I feel that as always, certain clubs will be the subject of journalistic witch hunts and we will be one of those that are to be hunted. Odd that the media can be so full of themselves when Sky Sports have just short-listed Harry Redknapp as their Manager of the Year.

The report and the recommendations can be downloaded for free in pdf format from www.quest.co.uk
