Jamo for Robbo, thanks but no thanks

It is one that the papers just will not leave alone – David James to Spurs. However a new ‘twist’ has been added to the rumour in recent days, this being that Paul Robinson would be offered in exchange.

I am not a great fan of Robinson to be honest, but he is not a bad keeper really is he – in many ways he is suffering as James had for many years, getting grief after grief for mistakes that are made, granted some of his have been horrendous – but then again so were James’ – and they seem to happen a hell of a lot.

James has himself been involved in some ‘dodgy’ situations in the past couple of games, which have been so uncharacteristic of his time at Fratton Park. Luckily he got away with it against Newcastle but was not so lucky against Citeh yesterday, but then again how much blame should Sol Campbell also take for ‘that goal?’

As we have previously said there seems no reason for James to uproot and move on – he is happy where he is based and is happy with Pompey, as we are with him, so this cannot surely happen can it? If Robinson was an improvement on James, then as we have seen with players in the past no sentiment is spared so it could happen – but as it would not be a forward move I do not think we have too much to fear to be honest…
