Pompey Match Zone

It is still on

|

Well, I think we can safely say, which I still find amazing in so many ways, Pompey are in with a chance of taking the season beyond the regulation period into the play-offs after the win at Walsall.

Quite how we have managed to remain there or thereabouts given a season of inconsistency baffles me. However, it is what it is and Gareth Evans’ cracker against the Saddlers made it three on the trot, which sets us up nicely for Wigan on Easter Monday – assuming the weather doesn’t get the better of the Latics’ visit to Fratton Park?

In some ways Paul Cook’s return to the South Coast, albeit with momentum with us, being delayed might not be a bad thing. I cannot, if truth be known, say I do think we’ll get anything from this game? But you never know.

Anyway, have we actually deserved to win these games recently? Perhaps not, but then again the results are all that matter and these have allowed us to keep our season alive and given the opposition we’ll face we can actually leave this in our own hands.

Do I think we’ll do it? In all honesty, no, but to go into April and have this chance is something I’ll take all day long, we all will.
