I thought that this was fantastic; someone who does the PR for Blackburn has contacted me via email to give me this information.

‘I work for Blackburn Rovers’ PR agency for off the field activity and I just wondered if you were aware of the ticket prices for Pompey’s game at Ewood Park on Sunday 23rd September, kick off 3pm?

‘Blackburn is one of the Premier League clubs that has significantly reduced the price of season tickets and match day tickets for both home and away supporters. Ticket prices for the Pompey fans are just £7 for junior tickets, £10 for senior tickets, and £20 for adult tickets.

‘Tickets will be available on the day of the game for Portsmouth fans but it’s best to buy advance to avoid queuing. Ticket information is available on portsmouthfc.co.uk.

‘If you could circulate this information to your website members that would be great. Hope to see you at Ewood Park; I will be there as I’m a Blackburn season ticket holder.

‘Hope you have a great season’.

You know what fellas think of Blackburn what you will – personally I think they are a really good team that is somewhat underrated – but I think that quite a lot of clubs, probably Pompey included, could learn from their example as they often seem to reduce their match day tickets.

Yep, you could argue they do this as crowds are low, but they are rewarding their fans, without wanting to be harsh to Pompey, as I love the club, but they are not always as kind to us as they could, or even should be.
