Now I like to fret, have a moan and find something to worry about.

Being the type of chap who likes to plan ahead I thought I would get my post Christmas panic in early this year and not wait until the festivities are upon us, so here we go.

My worry is that Harry is not likely to be playing Nugent until he is suspiciously near 40 if ever at all, what will we do whence that African Nations Cup has it’s effect in January 2008?

Davis does not seem to be the prolific goal scorer we need and I do not believe we can rely on our Herman Hreidarsson to pick up the slack. I further my fret intensity on the flimsy evidence that we are likely to lose Muntari, Diop, Utaka, Mvuemba, Traore & Kanu to this tournament and who can blame them for wanting to represent their respective countries.

Now you pompeyrug attempted to poor oil on my troubled waters by noting that Benji is not going to the African nations cup but to you agony Aunt Rug I say pah! I say again pah! My ability to worry far outweighs your feeble attempt at logic.

We all know Benji is partial to the odd muscle strain so lets just say he gets a thigh strain on that bog of a training pitch we have, you know the one that does for somebody over the post holiday fixtures every year.

So what is the answer tell me? Play Nugent now so he gets match sharp and maybe a little confidence?

Sell him in January and buy someone we actually intend to play, add another striker, Defoe and Crouch are permanently mentioned, or do we do nothing and plummet back to 9th place again?

Now I’ve got that off my chest I can go back to a good nights lack of sleep, bliss.
