Hart back in the saddle again

For a second season running a club at the wrong end of the table have come calling for Paul Hart in an attempt that he can save them from relegation?

As we all know Hart, although to be honest we really ‘should have’ given the squad that we had, kept us up when he took over but then was moved on during last season.

He then had a spell with QPR, which was short-lived, before being brought in by Palace to save them from championship relegation last season – something he achieved on the final day of the season.

Swindon have now come calling for him as they look to avoid relegation from league one…

So, once more – having failed to land the Palace job on a long-term contract dispute keeping them up – Hart is out of, what could be described as ‘semi-retirement’ I guess and his appointment is something that is done so with the expectation that he can save another club.

One player that he will know very well is Matty Ritchie, who of course signed for Swindon this season.

I do not think that we have any chance of getting that ‘extra payment’ that was inserted into his contract as a clause to benefit us should he ‘achieve promotion with Swindon this season’.

Best of luck to the guy, always a likable fella but not cut out, for me anyway, for the actual management. Coaching perhaps but not the ‘top job’ on a permanent basis, which history, if you are being honest, does tend to suggest is true…
