Harry says James is going nowhere

Harry Redknapp has spoken out against the Sunday ‘reports’ that were ‘linking’ David James with a summer move to Spurs, also rubbishing the thoughts that he would be out of contract this summer when speaking to sky sports: ‘I saw something about him going to Spurs in the summer, as he is out of contract.

‘I don’t know where that one has come from. He only signed a new contract with us last year and he will be with us for a long time yet’.

With Pompey you cannot help be a little cynical a times as what is said and what really happens can be different things but I think it is safe to say that we know it really would be ludicrous for us to lose James anytime soon, so this news will not only please each and every Pompey fan, it should also please Spurs fans as the vast majority did not want him anyway… there is no accounting for taste is there 🙂

Redknapp went on to also once again back James to be England’s no.1 up to and including the 2010 world cup finals: ‘there’s no reason why he can’t make the World Cup in 2010 because he will play on for a long time yet.

‘He’s such a perfectionist and is a great trainer. He is absolutely dedicated and he is in such great condition’.

The plaudits just keep growing for James don’t they – and rightly so.

Pompey’s, England’s, the premier leagues and according to Jamie Redknapp quite possibly the worlds best at this point in time is a far cry from his ‘calamity James’ tag isn’t it – even though some are still blinkered to this view sadly…
