‘Happy’ Riise keen to stay

You would hardly expect him to say anything other, although – as he told The Pompey Site – Bjorn Helge Riise is ‘hopeful’ that he can ‘stay at Pompey for longer.’

His loan ends in November but ‘playing his part’ is something that he wants to do in the meantime and then, as he is ‘enjoying’ his time at Fratton, he would be open to staying longer: ‘hopefully I can play my part while I’m here.

‘I want to do as well as possible during my time at Pompey and help the club climb the table.

‘I want to play as many games as I can while I’m here. The only way I’m going to do that is by offering something on the pitch.

‘If I can do that then hopefully I can stay at Pompey for longer, because I’m enjoying my time here.’

With the Fulham man arriving on loan when I was away on holiday I am as yet unable to case judgement on him in a Pompey shirt as I have not seen him play for us!

If he is anything like his brother, John Arne, then he cannot be a bad player – that much I could say without seeing him.

So then guys, given the games that he has played so far what it the general opinion of Riise – would you be happy for him to extend his loan, or even possibly be signed permanently in the New Year?
