Liam Walker … A bit of a Marmite player.

He came in last season on the back of a successful trial in Gibraltar when Michael Appleton was around.

Appleton said up front that it would take a year or so for walker to come good yet despite being a bit light in the tackle Walker seemed to be a player who could please … He finished the season as the player who had to second most number of assists for the season.

Yet for some reason Guy wasn’t 100% happy with him and at the end of the season, Walker was challenged to earn a new deal and although he claimed to have kept himself fit and stating he was ready to return to pre-season he announced that he would join a Greek club.

Then it was reported that Liam had turned up at a training base of Dundee United in Spain and requested a trial but this was promptly refused.

He was then linked to a move to Aris Thessaloniki, but the deal fell through and on late July, Walker returned to from where he had came – San Roque – only training with the club initially while waiting for a offer from any club. On 2 August however he re-signed with the club.

So what I want to know was Guy right not to offer Liam Walker a contract immediately after the end of the previous season? Was he right to make Walker prove himself … how must Liam have felt .. the only player not to have been told either way whether he was in or out ?

What is your view … Good Move or Bad Move ?

The floor is yours.
